Dr. Farshid Arbabi

Right treatment begins with the right decision.

The day you hear a cancer diagnosis, what worries you most is not knowing. My job is to turn that uncertainty, from day one, into a clear treatment plan: which treatment, in what order, and for how long. For years I have guided the treatment of head and neck, breast and digestive cancers with precise radiotherapy and drug therapies, alongside the surgeon and the care team, and my principle has never changed: tell the truth honestly and stay by your side until the end of the road.

Cancer Treatment Methods

For every patient, the combination and order of treatment are set individually. The methods below are the building blocks of a personalized cancer treatment pathway at Dr. Arbabi's clinic, a pathway designed carefully, for you, before treatment begins.

In Survivors' Own Words

Patients and their families tell the story of their treatment, from the day of diagnosis to today.

Glioblastoma and a promise made for morale

Glioblastoma and a promise made for morale

When the pathology report said glioblastoma, they were sure they wouldn't survive. Their brain surgeon referred them to Dr. Arbabi, and for a whole year they took chemotherapy pills for a few days each month. At first the doctor had told them not a single hair would fall out; when their hair did fall out, they went to him in tears, and he replied that without that promise they would not have kept going so strongly. Now their hair has grown back, and they are well.

She was 19 when she was diagnosed

Masoumeh was only 19 when she was diagnosed, and her doctors in Mashhad referred her to Dr. Arbabi. She had 19 sessions of chemotherapy; her treatment ended long ago, and now she comes only once every six months for a checkup. When we ask what helped most, her answer is one word: spirit. The spirit her family built around her, so that together they could all come to terms with the illness.

A misdiagnosis, trips from Shiraz and a year of treatment

In 2014 Mr. Hosseini had surgery for a brain tumor in Shiraz, but his pathology result was wrong. When he came to Dr. Arbabi, the pathology was reviewed again and the correct diagnosis was made. Then came a hard year of treatment, travelling back and forth between Shiraz and Tehran. The secret of his spirit? He put work aside, read books, travelled and, in his own words, was kind to himself. Now he comes only for checkups.

Walking again, eating again

Walking again, eating again

Recurrence is not the end of the road, and this video shows exactly that. Years after surgery the tumor came back, and it reached the point where they had lost their balance and eating had become dangerous. During Ramadan they began 25 sessions of radiotherapy, and according to their companion they are steady on their feet again and eat without any problem.

Recurrence after five years, and 25 sessions of radiation

Recurrence after five years, and 25 sessions of radiation

About 12 years ago they had surgery, and for five years everything was fine, until the disease came back. Their own surgeon referred them to Dr. Arbabi. Before radiotherapy they couldn't walk properly and bumped into doors and walls, and every meal carried a risk of choking. Their companion describes how, after 25 sessions of radiation, they now walk easily and eat without any problem.

Four years of waiting, until treatment was needed

Four years of waiting, until treatment was needed

In 2013 their left leg suddenly went numb a few times, and an MRI showed a grade 2 brain tumor. Interestingly, treatment didn't start right away; for four years they had an MRI every few months and the tumor stayed stable. In 2018, when the tumor began to grow and the symptoms increased, the time had come: complete surgery, 30 sessions of radiation and oral chemotherapy. Now the MRI is excellent, and their story shows that choosing the right time is itself part of treatment.

A patient has the right to know the truth

A patient has the right to know the truth

On the first day she was so stressed that her mouth was dry and she couldn't speak. She asked Dr. Arbabi to tell her the truth, and his answer was: a patient has the right to know the truth about their illness. Right then she understood she had breast cancer and burst into tears. When she asked, “Can I live with it?”, the doctor said they would have to defeat it together, and from that day she decided to fight. She is still in the middle of treatment and says her doctor patiently answers all her questions and worries.

The hand that came back to life

The hand that came back to life

In November 2019 they came to Dr. Arbabi with a brain tumor and weakness in one hand. The surgery had already been done, but the hand still didn't work properly. After treatment began, the hand slowly improved, and now, seven months on, the latest imaging shows no trace of the tumor. It's a short video, but the joy in their words says it all.

Booking an appointment through this system means you have read and fully accept the terms below. Please read this text to the end before paying.

1. Scope of services

Dr. Farshid Arbabi – Radiation Oncologist – treats cancer patients after a definitive diagnosis has been made.

Initial cancer diagnosis is not part of this clinic’s services. If you have not yet received a definitive diagnosis, please complete the diagnostic process with the relevant physician first.

Dr. Shaghayegh Alam – Psychologist – provides counselling and psychological support sessions for patients and their companions. These sessions are not medical treatment and do not replace a visit with the oncologist.

2. Appointment types

Appointment type Who it is for Approximate length
In-person visit – new patient First visit to this clinic 25 to 40 minutes
In-person visit – follow-up and check-up Patients in treatment or after treatment 5 to 15 minutes
Test prescription Test orders for an existing patient Short
Psychological counselling Patient or companion 60 minutes

Choosing the wrong appointment type means the allocated time will not match your actual needs. If this is your first visit, always choose «New patient», even if your file was opened with another physician.

3. Booking and payment

  • Your appointment is confirmed only after online payment is completed. Until then, the selected time is not reserved for you.
  • Payment is made through a secure bank gateway supervised by Shaparak. Your card details are never stored by this website.
  • If money is deducted without an appointment being issued, it is automatically returned to your account within 72 hours at most. Otherwise, please call the clinic.
  • An appointment tracking code is sent to you by text message. Please keep it until your visit.

4. Attending the clinic

  • Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment so that check-in can be completed.
  • The time on your appointment is your place in the queue, not necessarily the moment you enter the doctor’s room. Because of the nature of these illnesses, a previous patient’s visit may take longer than usual. Thank you for your patience.
  • Arriving more than 15 minutes late may mean losing your appointment; being seen will then depend on the clinic’s discretion and on available time that day.

5. Required documents

For new patients, bringing the following is mandatory:

  • Your complete medical file
  • All test results
  • Pathology and biopsy reports
  • Imaging (CT, MRI, PET scan) together with their reports
  • A list of the medicines you currently take
  • National ID card

Without these documents your file cannot be reviewed properly and the visit will not be useful. If necessary, the doctor may order some tests again to confirm the information.

For follow-up patients, the latest test results and current medicines are enough.

6. Cancelling or rescheduling

  • Up to 24 hours before your appointment you can cancel or reschedule it from your account on the website. In that case the full amount is returned to your account within 3 to 7 working days.
  • Less than 24 hours before, online cancellation is not possible and the payment is not refundable, because that time slot can no longer be offered to another patient.
  • Not attending without prior notice counts as a cancellation and the full amount is lost. After two missed appointments, online booking is blocked for your phone number.

7. Cancellation by the clinic

In unavoidable circumstances (the doctor’s illness, unexpected closure, force majeure) your appointment may be cancelled or rescheduled. You will be notified by text message and the full amount will be returned without any deduction, or, if you prefer, a replacement appointment will be given to you at the earliest opportunity.

8. Privacy and medical information

  • Your identity details and phone number are used only to manage appointments and send notifications, and are not shared with third parties.
  • Your medical information is covered by medical confidentiality and is not disclosed to anyone without your written consent or a legal obligation.
  • Notes you write in the comments field when booking are used only to prepare for your visit.

9. Remote medical advice

This system is only a tool for booking in-person appointments. No treatment advice, test interpretation or prescription is given through the website, text messages or social media. Any replies are general guidance and do not replace a visit.

10. Emergencies

If you are in an emergency situation, such as shortness of breath, bleeding, uncontrolled high fever or reduced consciousness, do not wait for an appointment. Call the emergency number 115 or go to the nearest medical centre.

11. Contact
